Filmhuis Den Haag proudly presents ROOTS in Motion—an exciting initiative that shines a spotlight on short films and the talented filmmakers behind them.

Supporting local filmmakers is at the heart of what we do. In addition to the annual ROOTS Film Festival, we're expanding our efforts. ROOTS in Motion offers a year-round platform for film screenings, engaging discussions, Q&A sessions, and valuable networking opportunities.

Calling all Hague-based filmmakers! We warmly welcome you to be a part of the inaugural edition of ROOTS in Motion by sharing your creative work with us. Whether it's a short fiction, documentary, or music video, we eagerly await your submissions. 

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity to immerse yourself in the vibrant world of local filmmaking. We can't wait to see you at ROOTS in Motion!

We zijn verheugd om je uit te nodigen om lokaal film maken in Den Haag te ervaren met ons nieuwe programma. Filmhuis Den Haag presenteert vol trots ROOTS in Motion - een spannend initiatief dat de schijnwerpers richt op korte films en de getalenteerde filmmakers die er achter staan.

Het ondersteunen van lokale filmmakers staat centraal in ons werk. Naast het jaarlijkse ROOTS Film Festival breiden we onze inspanningen uit. ROOTS in Motion biedt het hele jaar door een platform voor filmvertoningen, boeiende discussies, Q&A-sessies en waardevolle netwerkmogelijkheden.

Aan alle filmmakers in Den Haag! We heten je van harte welkom om deel te nemen aan ROOTS in Motion door je creatieve werk met ons te delen. Of het nu een korte fictie film, documentaire of muziekvideo is. 

Mis deze geweldige kans niet om je onder te dompelen in de levendige wereld van lokale filmmaking. We kijken ernaar uit om je te zien bij ROOTS in Motion!

Terugblik!

In June, we had our first (pilot) edition of ROOTS in Motion, which was very successful. Three short films from Meryem Çifteci, Joris Spaanderman, Carmen Dusmet Carrasco & Io Sivertsen, were shown. Afterwards, Amar Somaroo and the filmmakers joined us in a post-discussion.

All and all the evening was very exciting and successfull and we can't wait to see you in the next one on Wednesday 20st of September. Check out our website for further updates.

Recap!

In juni was de eerste editie van ROOTS in Motion, die erg succesvol was. Drie korte films van, Meryem Çifteci, Joris Spaanderman, Carmen Dusmet Carrasco & Io Sivertsen, werder vertoond. Na afloop spraken de makers met Amar Somaroo.

Het was een gezellige, succesvolle avond en we kunnen niet wachten tot de volgende editie op woensdag 20 september. Houd onze website in de gaten voor meer info!

Van maandag t/m zondag is de kassa van 10.00 tot 22.00 uur open. Ons café is open van 10.00 tot 00.00 uur. Kom dus heerlijk ontbijten, een kop koffie drinken, lunchen of vegetarisch dineren. We kijken ernaar uit!
