Each month, three dedicated ambassadors take the lead in curating a film screening, selecting titles that inspire, challenge, or simply entertain. But the audience plays a key role too—through voting and discussions, they help shape the final lineup. It’s a club where everyone’s voice matters, making each screening a collective experience.
Film070 isn’t just about watching films; it’s about creating an atmosphere. I’m obsessed with stories, I love them in all their shapes and forms. When I watch films, the way in which everything is put together to tell a story fascinates me, and how this makes the story come across often ends up defining how I value the film afterwards.
Julia
Hi! I’m Julia. I write social science research, perform art, and community organize, living between Rotterdam and The Hague. In cinema I am captivated by the gaps between what you see and hear on screen and what you imagine. Stories through which we see reflections of ourselves. Film that manages to be more than the sum of its parts and reaches parts of us we didn’t know were there. In the screening room, I might squirm restlessly on the edge of my seat or be completely still, locked in and unable to look away. As long as the film holds that grip, we’re good.

Hello, I’m Oscar, a journalist and comedian–basically, words is my business. I’d like to say I’m honoured to be joining Film070, but the honour is in fact theirs. I was chosen because of my boundless knowledge and exquisite taste. I know a lot about movies and I take them very seriously. In fact, as a baby, the only way to stop me from crying was to plop me down in front of a projector showing one of Andrei Tarkovsky’s works (only the later ones, of course).
