Rewire is een jaarlijks terugkerend internationaal festival voor avontuurlijke muziek. Vier dagen lang, van 4 t/m 7 april 2024, keert Rewire voor de dertiende keer terug naar Den Haag, met een breed scala aan muzikale en interdisciplinaire optredens, speciaal in opdracht gemaakte werken, clubavonden, films, installaties, lezingen, screenings en meer.
Tijdens het Rewire festival zullen er verschillende films te zien zijn bij Filmhuis Den Haag. Per film zullen er 10 kaarten beschikbaar worden gemaakt voor bezoekers van Filmhuis Den Haag. De rest van de tickets is alleen voor polsbandhouders van Rewire en zijn te bestellen met actiecode REWIRE#24

Rewire is an annual international festival for adventurous music. For four days from April 4-7, 2024, Rewire returns to The Hague for the thirteenth time, with a wide range of musical and interdisciplinary performances, specially commissioned works, club nights, films, installations, lectures, screenings and more.
During the Rewire festival, several films will be screened at Filmhuis Den Haag. For each film, 10 tickets will be made available to visitors of Filmhuis Den Haag. The rest of the tickets are for Rewire wristband holders only and can be ordered with action code REWIRE#24

Vrijdag 15:00 - The Tuba Thieves
Set against the backdrop of recurring tuba thefts in high schools, the film intertwines historic concerts and unconventional reenactments, delving into themes of Deaf gain, hearing loss, and the affective sensations of miscommunication.
Vrijdag 17:00 - N'Importe Quoi + Wendy
Compilation of the films 'N'Importe Quoi' (Luke Fowler, 2023) and 'Wendy' (Frances Scott & Chu-Liu Shewring, 2023).

11:00 - Zinzindurrunkarratz
Filmmaker Oskar Alegría undertakes a minimalist journey to supply the last shepherd of the Andia Mountains, retracing his grandfather's seasonal route with a Super-8 camera.
13:00 - The Two Sights
Through locals' tales of supernatural encounters, filmmaker Joshua Bonnetta merges striking visuals and immersive soundscapes, offering an ethnographic marvel that transports the audience into the mystical realm beyond the senses.
15:00 - Monisme
The film depicts the human-nature relationship at Mount Merapi, blending professional actors with locals tied to the volcano. Created by artist and filmmaker Riar Rizaldi, it explores themes of labor, technology, and the environment through a mix of fiction and reality.

"32 Sounds" by filmmaker Sam Green is an immersive exploration of the profound impact and elemental nature of sound, delving into its ability to shape perception and transcend boundaries.
13:00 - Sakamoto's Opus
Legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto passed away on March 28, 2023, after battling cancer. In late 2022, despite his declining health, Sakamoto presented a final concert film featuring him and his piano, curated to narrate his life through 20 pieces.
15:30 - Lolo & Sosaku: The Western Archives
"Lolo & Sosaku" follows the collaborative journey of two sound artists from Argentina and Japan who create unique sound sculptures using homemade instruments. Directed by Sergio Caballero, the film portrays them as unconventional heroes in a surreal western.
