LUNAR NEW YEAR
FEBRUARY 13-24
Filmhuis Den Haag and CinemAsia present a special Lunar New Year film program! This year’s Lunar New Year special features iconic and moving stories from Asia and the diaspora. From family bonds and love to longing and identity, this selection of classics and contemporary favourites brings the spirit of the new year to life on both an epic and intimate scale.
The programme includes The Joy Luck Club, Vive L’Amour (restored by Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute), The Grandmaster and The Farewell — films that each, in their own way, celebrate the richness and diversity of Asian cinema.
Films in this program

A heartfelt family drama where a secret goodbye forces a young woman to choose between cultural duty and personal truth.
