A failed rock star turns a class of schoolchildren into a band — without telling their principal.
After being kicked out of his band, struggling guitarist Dewey Finn poses as a substitute teacher at a prestigious private school. When he discovers his students' musical talents, he secretly turns the class into a rock band and prepares them for a local battle of the bands. But keeping his double life under wraps becomes increasingly difficult as the big performance approaches.
Nadat hij uit zijn band is gezet, doet de worstelende gitarist Dewey Finn zich voor als invalleerkracht op een prestigieuze privéschool. Wanneer hij het muzikale talent van zijn leerlingen ontdekt, vormt hij in het geheim een rockband met de klas en bereidt hij hen voor op een lokale bandwedstrijd.
