Will Wissink
Rock City: The Life We Live
Five veteran musicians revisit the glory days of The Hague's rock scene and reveal why the music never stopped.
Filmmaker Will Wissink revisits the legendary music scene of The Hague in the 1960s and '70s, following five veteran musicians who helped shape Dutch pop and rock. Through archival footage and candid conversations, he explores the lives of artists including members of The Motions, Q65 and Livin' Blues, discovering what continues to drive them decades after their heyday. A portrait of a generation of musicians who refuse to leave the stage behind and continue to find new inspiration in music.
Getting the Band Back Together
Music brings us together. Whether that’s from Amsterdam to The Hague, from one end of the Grote Marktstraat to the other, or in a high school bathroom, outside the closed doors of your favourite band’s concert, or at a barn with vampires lurking outside. That's why this November, Filmhuis Den Haag, Melkweg and PAARD are striking the same chord to present GETTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER: a joint film programme celebrating bands in all shapes, sizes and genres.
