A Macedonian beekeeper lives in isolation with her ailing mother in a remote mountain village, practicing sustainable beekeeping and living by the principle of “half for me, half for you.” Her peaceful life is disrupted when a nomadic family moves in nearby, whose unsustainable practices threaten the delicate balance between humans and nature.
We discuss the Oscar-nominated Honeyland with Samir Ljuma, cinematographer of this stunning documentary, and Diana Francês, advisor at WWF Netherlands.
