Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay
Two stoners tumble through absurd adventures, proving friendship survives even the wildest government mix-ups.
What starts as a simple flight quickly turns into chaos when Harold and Kumar are mistaken for terrorists. They are sent to Guantanamo Bay, only to make a daring escape and go on the run across the United States. Hunted by authorities, they scramble to clear their names while stumbling into increasingly absurd situations. Along the way, their friendship is tested but ultimately strengthened. The film blends outrageous comedy with sharp satire on post-9/11 paranoia.
On April 20, 'Harold and Kumar Escape From Guantanamo Bay' and 'Reefer Madness' will include a screening of the ROOTS Film Festival 2025 short film 'Mr. Sun and Miss Universe' by Souffien Melad. When superstar Mr. Sun notices his shiny golden locks starting to fall out, he embarks on a cosmic journey in which, with the help of Miss Universe, he reconsiders his relationship with his impermanence.
Wat begint als een simpele vlucht, ontspoort wanneer Harold en Kumar worden aangezien voor terroristen. Ze belanden in Guantanamo Bay, maar weten te ontsnappen en slaan op de vlucht door de Verenigde Staten. Achtervolgd door de autoriteiten proberen ze hun onschuld te bewijzen, terwijl ze in steeds absurdere situaties terechtkomen. Onderweg wordt hun vriendschap op de proef gesteld, maar ook versterkt. De film combineert grove humor met satire op de paranoia na 9/11.
