Glued & Screwed #30

Themed Luminous Passage, edition 30 of Glued & Screwed will celebrate the passage of time and light through a mixture of digital and analog 16mm short films that explore light and refractions in the broadest sense imaginable.

The cinematic experience is defined by light (and the lack thereof), whether it's pixels that are digitally beamed onto the screen, or reels of celluloid film spooled through a projector. So, for Edition 30 of the monthly program of artists moving image curated by platform wysiwyg, the theme will be Luminous Passage. A program that celebrates the passage of time and light through a mixture of digital and analog 16mm films from Dutch-based artists and filmmakers. The films by Raquel Vermunt, Nan Wang, Sojeong Lee, and Linne Guldemond together will shape an evening dedicated to the delicacy of light and refraction in the broadest sense imaginable.

A House with a View
Raquel Vermunt
LV/NL | 2025 | 5 Minutes | 16mm

A house faces outwards, but turns inwards, like a lens, locked inside. This poetic 16mm Black&White film observes the rhythms of light and shadow as they drift across the interior of a house. Still and silent, the house becomes both subject and observer, a vessel for time, presence, and memory. Without narrative or dialogue, A House with a View invites us to see space not as backdrop, but as witness.

Oscillation in Sight #1
Nan Wang
NL | 2023 | 6 Minutes | 16mm

Oscillation in Sight is a series of experimental films that challenges conventional representations of motion. Using a self-built 16mm camera free from standard constraints of frame, speed, and shutter, the filmmaker reimagines perception itself. In Oscillation in Sight #1, a small transparent piece of plastic spins on a motor, phasing in and out of visibility — oscillating between the familiar and the distorted.

Breaking Point
Nan Wang
NL | 2019 | 8 Minutes | DCP

Breaking Point is an abstract meditation on rhythm and transformation. A simple bottle of liquid becomes a self-contained universe, its surface vibrating to the soundtrack by Michel Banabila. Polarizing filters shift the image from shadow to blinding light as bubbles rise and collapse, a calm suspended at the edge of rupture. The film captures the moment where tranquility breaks into kinetic energy.

Leave No Traces
Linne Guldemond
NL | 2025 | 10 Minutes | DCP

Leave No Traces documents the journey of a cargo ship at sea, a continuous process occurring in the background of daily life. The film follows its route through open waters, ports, and industrial zones.

Romantic Machine
Sojeong Lee
KR | 2019 | 29 Minutes | DCP

When darkness arrives, dim glows emerge. The film observes the landscape of a single night on the seashore in South Korea. In the wind, beside the waves, time flows slowly. The images sculpt the envionment through traces of the light and the sounds create fictional narratives within the water, rocks, living beings, and the light machine. We remain in a moment of encounter, half-awake, half-asleep.

Glued & Screwed

Short experiment on the screen

Glued & Screwed is a project by screening platform wysiwyg in collaboration with Filmhuis Den Haag. This film evening serves as a platform for experimentation by (young) artists, designers and other makers working with the medium of film. The films and visual language that are missing in the regular film landscape are given a stage here and offer visitors challenging experiences.

During a discussion with the makers in the hall or during the drinks in the cafe there is space for dialogue and getting acquainted.
