Als arthouse bioscoop bieden wij een divers programma, variërend van hedendaagse internationale films tot retrospectieven, filmfestivals en paneldiscussies. Jouw rol:

In Filmhuis Den Haag is geen dag hetzelfde. In onze filmzalen en studio’s wordt van alles georganiseerd - filmvertoningen, educatieprogramma's, presentaties en filmfestivals. Het team techniek zorgt ervoor dat onze bezoekers en leerlingen het hele jaar door in 6 zalen onze filmprogrammering op groot scherm met de beste beeld- en geluidskwaliteit kunnen ervaren. Daarbij ben je bij events, verhuringen en educatieprogramma’s het eerste aanspreekpunt voor externen wat betreft de techniek en uitvoering hiervan. Voor het team techniek zoeken we dan ook op korte termijn een flexibele en kundige:

Film- en event technicus (24 uur p.w.)

Dit ga je doen:

Als film- en event technicus zorg je voor de voorbereiding, uitvoering en begeleiding van vertoningen en controleer je de kwaliteit van beeld, geluid en licht. Daarnaast ben jij binnen het team techniek het eerste aanspreekpunt voor de kwaliteitsbewaking van onze filmvertoningen en technische processen. Je ziet toe op de kwaliteit van beeld, geluid en licht, signaleert verbeterpunten en bewaakt de technische standaarden binnen het filmhuis. Ook ben je medeverantwoordelijk voor het juiste gebruik en onderhoud van onze apparatuur. Je voert zelf klein onderhoud uit en verhelpt eventuele storingen tijdens en rond de programmering. Je bedient de projectie-, geluids- en lichttechniek en biedt ondersteuning bij educatie, verhuringen, festivals en speciale programmering. Ook houd je nauw contact met programmeurs en distributeurs over de aanlevering van films en bewaak je het goede verloop van dit proces. Alle filmvertoningen worden vooraf ingeprogrammeerd en getest. Voor speciale evenementen en festivals werk je ook in de avond of het weekend, waardoor je werkweek kan wisselen. Samen met het team zorg je voor een goede sfeer binnen de organisatie, waar wij er met elkaar voor zorgen dat onze bezoekers 364 dagen per jaar van ‘s ochtends vroeg tot laat films kunnen kijken! 

Jouw profiel

- Minimaal MBO werk- en denkniveau in de richting van techniek, media en film.

- Je hebt bijvoorkeur al kennis en ervaring met het vertonen van films en bent bereid jezelf hier verder in te ontwikkelen.

- Je hebt ervaring met podiumtechniek als licht en geluid en hebt affiniteit met (nieuwe) audiovisuele technieken zowel fysiek als online.

- Je bent oplossingsgericht, een teamplayer, communicatief, nieuwsgierig, flexibel, nauwkeurig en hebt oog voor detail.

- Je bent een sparringpartner voor je teamleider en houdt technische ontwikkelingen nauw in de gaten.

- Je hebt basiskennis van netwerken, besturingssystemen en audiovisuele ICT-omgevingen;

- Werken in de avonden, weekenden, feestdagen en afwisselende diensten vind je geen probleem.

- Je hebt een goede beheersing van zowel de Nederlandse als de Engelse taal.

- Je woont bij voorkeur in Den Haag of omgeving.

Your role
No two days are the same at Filmhuis Den Haag. Our cinemas and studios host a wide variety of activities, including film screenings, educational programs, presentations, and film festivals. The Technical Team ensures that visitors and students can enjoy our film program throughout the year across six screening rooms, experiencing the highest standards of image and sound quality.

In addition, for events, venue rentals, and educational programs, you will serve as the primary technical point of contact for external partners regarding technical support and execution. To strengthen our Technical Team, we are looking for a flexible and skilled:

Film and event technician (24 hours per week)

What you will do
As a film and event technician, you will be responsible for the preparation, operation, and supervision of screenings, while ensuring the quality of image, sound, and lighting. Within the Technical team, you will act as the primary point of contact for quality assurance related to film screenings and technical processes. You will monitor image, sound, and lighting quality, identify areas for improvement, and safeguard technical standards throughout the organization. You will also share responsibility for the proper use and maintenance of our technical equipment. This includes carrying out minor maintenance tasks yourself and resolving any technical issues that arise during screenings and programming activities. You will operate projection, sound, and lighting systems and provide technical support for educational activities, venue rentals, festivals, and special programming. In addition, you will maintain close communication with programmers and film distributors regarding film deliveries and ensure that this process runs smoothly. All film screenings are programmed and tested in advance. For special events and festivals, you may also work evenings and weekends, meaning your work schedule may vary from week to week. Together with the team, you will help create a positive working atmosphere within the organization, where we work together to ensure that visitors can enjoy films 364 days a year, from early morning until late at night.

Your Profile

- Minimum vocational (MBO) level of education and thinking, preferably in a technical, media, or film-related field.

- You preferably already have knowledge and experience in film projection and are willing to further develop your skills in this area.

- You have experience with stage technology, such as lighting and sound, and have an affinity for (new) audiovisual technologies, both in physical and online environments.

- A solution-oriented mindset, strong teamwork skills, excellent communication abilities, curiosity, flexibility, accuracy, and attention to detail.

- The ability to act as a sparring partner for the Technical team leader and stay informed about developments in the field.

- Basic knowledge of networks, operating systems, and audiovisual ICT environments.

- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and variable shifts.

- Good command of both Dutch and English language.

- Preferably living in The Hague or the surrounding area.
