''Girlies you are not ready. As a huge Brontë lover I had my reservations about Emerald Fennell’s '“Wuthering Heights”', but about twenty minutes into the film I let them all go. No, this is not a faithful adaption of the nineteenth century novel and it certainly is not an accurate representation of the way people lived back then. Thankfully! We already have plenty of those. This film is a campy celebration of love under cruel circumstances, hot people at their worst and unabashed horniness, set to a c*nty soundtrack by Charli xcx. I reveled in every frame, enjoyed every shot of Jacob Elordi’s impressive physique and can’t wait to see it again, together with you all.
(Looking for a more faithful 'Wuthering Heights' adaptation? We’re also screening the 1939 version this month. For home viewing I highly recommend Andrea Arnold’s version from 2011, which is not ‘the greatest love story ever told’ but a horror story about racism and miserable people. I love it.)''
