De stop-motion animatiefilm is geproduceerd door Laika Studios (Coraline, The Boxtrolls, ParaNorman, Kubo and the Two Strings, Missing Link) en geregisseerd door Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee).

''Do you feel like AI is overtaking your feed? 'Wildwood' is the answer to that. Each frame is carefully crafted using stop motion techniques, filled to the brim with creativity and serving as testimony to no limits of human imagination. Each second of the film awes you with the attention to the smallest of details.
I can’t think of any other word to describe it but epic. If you’re a fan of ‘The Lord of The Rings’, these stop motion battle scenes can easily match the grandeur of the hobbit saga. But 'Wildwood' is not just a pretty picture, but also touching and gripping. As we are taken along the journey with the main character we feel all her hardships, her dilemmas and her fears.
'Wildwood' is here to remind us what passion and skill can achieve - and the result is stunning.''
