A television executive's obsession with a mysterious broadcast pulls him into a nightmarish reality where media transforms the mind and body.
Max Renn, the president of a small television station, is constantly searching for increasingly extreme programming. When he discovers a mysterious broadcast called Videodrome, featuring disturbing images of violence and torture, he becomes obsessed with uncovering its origin. His search draws him into a surreal world in which television signals begin to alter his perception of reality and even his own body. As Max loses his grip on what is real, he becomes entangled in a dangerous conspiracy that blurs the boundaries between technology, desire and human consciousness.
Max Renn, de directeur van een kleine televisiezender, is voortdurend op zoek naar steeds extremere programma's. Wanneer hij een mysterieuze uitzending genaamd Videodrome ontdekt, met verontrustende beelden van geweld en marteling, raakt hij geobsedeerd door de oorsprong ervan te achterhalen. Zijn zoektocht voert hem mee in een surrealistische wereld waarin televisiesignalen zijn perceptie van de werkelijkheid en zelfs zijn eigen lichaam beginnen te veranderen. Terwijl Max steeds meer grip op de realiteit verliest, raakt hij verstrikt in een gevaarlijke samenzwering waarin de grenzen tussen technologie, verlangen en het menselijk bewustzijn vervagen.
