The Year of the Ghost

When filmmaker Louis HotHotHot returns to China in 2022 because his father is gravely ill, a mandatory quarantine causes him to miss both his father’s passing and his funeral. Following this loss, his mother and sister each go their separate ways: his mother moves to the village where her husband is buried, while his sister attempts to forge her own future in Beijing. Louis himself finds himself torn between his life in Europe and the question of whether he should return to care for his mother.
