When a police officer arrives on a remote island to investigate a missing girl, its secretive inhabitants draw him into a terrifying ritual.
Police sergeant Neil Howie travels to the remote Scottish island of Summerisle to investigate the disappearance of a young girl. The island’s inhabitants insist that the girl never existed, while their unusual customs and secretive behaviour make Howie increasingly suspicious. As he searches for answers, he discovers that the islanders are preparing for an elaborate ceremony. His investigation ultimately leads him to a horrifying revelation about why he was summoned to the island.
