When her fiancé is injured, a blind young woman ventures into the forbidden forest to find medicine and discovers a secret about her isolated village.
In a secluded 19th-century community surrounded by a forest, the villagers live according to strict rules and fear the mysterious creatures said to inhabit the woods. When Lucius Hunt wants to venture beyond the village, the elders forbid him from doing so. After Lucius is injured, his blind fiancée Ivy Walker decides to leave the village and cross the forest to find medicine for him. Her journey reveals that the village and the world beyond it are not what she has always been told.
