Slot #2 of this year's New Talents Competition.
The New Talents Competition returns for its sixth edition, featuring eight bold debut and second films from Eastern and Southern Europe. These filmmakers explore identity, memory, and community with curiosity and sensitivity, offering fresh perspectives and daring visions of the world.
New Talents Competition Slot #2 consists of the following films:
Completely Different, Exactly the Same (by Marianna Giorgia Marchesini, 2025, Italy, Montenegro): A sharp and caring reflection on solidarity, witnessing the enduring echoes of war and nationalism across generations.
Towards White (by Letiţia Popa, 2025, Romania, Netherlands): Using still photography and sound, a filmmaker confronts harassment and seeks understanding through visual meditation.
Dog and Wolf (by Terézia Halamová, 2025, Czechia): A haunting exploration of how memories live in our bodies, surfacing in unexpected and profound ways.
Bosnian War Movie (by Marko Lončarević, 2025, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria): Through body and prayer, this documentary bravely confronts the trauma of war and the process of healing.
The screening will be followed by Q&A with the directors Letiţia Popa, Marko Lončarević and Marianna Giorgia Marchesini, and activist Sabina Talović.
De New Talents Competition keert terug voor zijn zesde editie, met acht gedurfde debuut- en tweede films uit Oost- en Zuid-Europa. Deze filmmakers verkennen identiteit, herinnering en gemeenschap met nieuwsgierigheid en gevoeligheid, en bieden frisse perspectieven en gedurfde visies op de wereld.
New Talents Competition Slot #2 bestaat uit de volgende films:
Completely Different, Exactly the Same (Marianna Giorgia Marchesini, 2025, Italië, Montenegro): Een scherpe en zorgzame reflectie op solidariteit, die de blijvende echo’s van oorlog en nationalisme over generaties heen belicht.
Towards White (Letiţia Popa, 2025, Roemenië, Nederland): Met behulp van stilstaande fotografie en geluid confronteert een filmmaker intimidatie en zoekt zij begrip via visuele meditatie.

De vertoning wordt gevolgd door een Q&A met de regisseurs Letiţia Popa, Marko Lončarević en Marianna Giorgia Marchesini, en activiste Sabina Talović.
