Los Colonos - Beyond Conquest
A stark western that confronts Chile’s colonial violence and the genocide of its Indigenous people.

In the early 20th century, a group of European settlers embarks on a mission across Tierra del Fuego, under the guise of mapping the land but in reality carrying out a brutal campaign of violence against the Indigenous Selk’nam people. The film exposes Chile’s colonial past and the devastating legacy of genocide.
On September 24th, Los Colonos will be introduced by Dr. Daniela Vicherat Mattar of Leiden University College The Hague. Dr Vicherat Mattar is a Chilean sociologist whose work focuses, among other topics, on questions of belonging, citizenship, and street art in Europe and Latin America.
