Een briljante imitator neemt de telefoon en het leven van een beroemde schrijver over.
Het lukt Baptiste, een geweldige imitator, maar niet om door te breken. Tot hij op een dag benaderd wordt door de beroemde schrijver Pierre Chozène. Pierre werkt momenteel aan zijn nieuwste meesterwerk, maar komt nauwelijks aan schrijven toe omdat hij voortdurend gestoord wordt door telefoontjes van zijn uitgever, zijn dochter, zijn ex... Zijn telefoon uitzetten is geen optie: alleen al de gedachte aan alle af te luisteren voicemails maakt hem gek. Hij stelt Baptiste voor om zijn ‘antwoordapparaat’ te worden, door zich Pierres stem eigen te maken en zich als hem voor te doen. Al gauw krijgt Baptiste de smaak te pakken en neemt hij niet alleen Pierres telefoon, maar ook zijn leven over. Winnaar publieksprijs Alpe d’Huez filmfestival 2025.
Baptiste, a talented impersonator, just can’t seem to catch his big break—until one day he’s approached by the famous writer Pierre Chozène. Pierre is currently working on his latest masterpiece, but he can hardly find time to write as he is constantly interrupted by calls from his publisher, his daughter, his ex… Turning off his phone is out of the question: the mere thought of all those unanswered voicemails drives him crazy. He proposes that Baptiste become his “answering machine,” by adopting Pierre’s voice and pretending to be him. Soon, Baptiste catches the bug, and he doesn’t just take over Pierre’s phone—he starts taking over his life as well. Winner of the Audience Award at the Alpe d’Huez Film Festival 2025.
