The Indigenous Shorts Programme presents a powerful selection of 5 short films highlighting Indigenous stories from Brazil, Suriname, Canada, and the Netherlands. Titles such as Surara, Inheemse Surinamers in Rotterdam, Mangittatuarjuk, Fim da Noite, and Rio das Mortes explore deep connections to land, ancestry, and cultural memory. Through personal and collective narratives, the films reflect on identity, resilience, spirituality, and the lasting impact of history. The programme offers an important platform for Indigenous voices and is followed by a panel talk with two filmmakers.
Het Indigenous Shorts Programme presenteert een krachtige selectie van 5 korte films met inheemse verhalen uit Brazilië, Suriname, Canada en Nederland. Titels zoals Surara, Inheemse Surinamers in Rotterdam, Mangittatuarjuk, Fim da Noite en Rio das Mortes verkennen de diepe verbondenheid met land, afkomst en cultureel geheugen. Via persoonlijke en collectieve verhalen reflecteren de films op identiteit, veerkracht, spiritualiteit en de doorwerking van het verleden. Het programma biedt een belangrijk platform voor inheemse stemmen en wordt afgesloten met een nagesprek met twee filmmakers.
