After a young girl in rural Zambia is accused of witchcraft, she is sent to a government-run ‘witch camp,’ where she must navigate absurd rules, superstition, and exploitation. Darkly humorous and haunting, the film explores power, freedom, and the cost of being labeled an outcast.

Nancy C. Kula is Professor and Chair of African Linguistics. Her research focuses on African and General Linguistics, particularly Bantu languages, including phonology, morphology, tone, and their interfaces. She also studies Language Policy in Africa, with an emphasis on using multilingualism in classroom instruction.
Een jong meisje in het landelijke Zambia wordt beschuldigd van hekserij en naar een door de overheid gerund 'heksenkamp' gestuurd, waar ze zich moet zien te redden te midden van absurde regels, bijgeloof en uitbuiting. Nancy C. Kula is hoogleraar en hoofd van de afdeling Afrikaanse taalkunde. Haar onderzoek richt zich op Afrikaanse en algemene taalkunde, met name Bantoe-talen, waaronder fonologie, morfologie, toon en de interacties daartussen. Ze bestudeert ook taalbeleid in Afrika, met een focus op het gebruik van meertaligheid in het onderwijs.
