Gaua - Gather Round Folks
Lost in a dark forest, a young woman encounters three mysterious storytellers whose tales begin to mirror the events of her own life.
In 17th-century Basque Country, Kattalin flees her violent husband in the middle of the night and disappears into the forest. There she encounters three women washing clothes by a river and sharing frightening stories and rumours about the village. As their stories unfold, Kattalin begins to recognise people and events from her own life among them. Before long, she finds herself becoming part of the very stories the women are telling.
In het Baskenland van de zeventiende eeuw vlucht Kattalin midden in de nacht voor haar gewelddadige man en verdwijnt ze het bos in. Daar ontmoet ze drie vrouwen die bij een rivier de was doen en elkaar angstaanjagende verhalen en dorpsroddels vertellen. Naarmate hun verhalen zich ontvouwen, herkent Kattalin steeds meer mensen en gebeurtenissen uit haar eigen leven. Voor ze het weet, wordt ze zelf onderdeel van de verhalen die de vrouwen vertellen.
