ENFF Panel: ROOTS
As part of this year’s focus programme, Eastern Neighbours Film Festival invites audiences to a series of panel discussions.
As part of this year’s focus programme, Eastern Neighbours Film Festival invites audiences to a panel discussion exploring how questions of home, belonging and identity are shaped by place, memory and displacement.
Joining the discussion are three filmmakers whose films approach these questions from very different perspectives: Croatian director Hana Jušić, whose God Will Not Help examines an outsider’s arrival in an isolated mountain community; Lebanese-Armenian filmmaker Comes Chahbazian, with Here, Elsewhere documents a family facing the loss of its homeland; and Serbian director Nikola Ležaić, whose How Come It’s All Green Out Here? explores family memory, exile and homecoming through a father-and-son journey. Together, they will reflect on the ways cinema can revisit personal and collective histories, and on what remains when borders, communities and generations shift.
