El Abrazo de la Serpiente - Beyond Conquest
A haunting Amazonian odyssey about memory, loss, and the meeting of worlds.

Spanning decades in the Colombian Amazon, the story follows Karamakate, the last survivor of his tribe, as he guides two foreign scientists on separate journeys in search of a sacred healing plant. The encounters reveal the clash between Indigenous cosmology and Western exploration.
On October 8th, the film will be introduced by Prof.drs. Rosalba Icaza. Prof.drs. Icaza is a decolonial feminist scholar activist based at Leiden University's Institute of Political Science, where she has been recently appointed Professor of International Relations.
