Between Film and Art #2 2026 - ENFF
Between Film and Art presents films that fall through the cracks between regular cinema and the art world, and find their freedom there.
Between Film and Art presents films that fall through the cracks between regular cinema and the art world, and find their freedom there. In broader Eastern Europe that isn't new. Experimental cinema there has its long history, still unfolding:
Between Film and Art #2 consists of the following films:
The More I Zoom in on the Image of These Dogs, the Clearer it Becomes That They Are Related to the Stars (Alexandre Koberidze, Georgië, Germany, 2023): A picture of dogs is zoomed into more than a thousand times over, until what’s left is soft, shining matter – and the title turns out to be true.
Pattern Of Activation (Plankton) (Katja Novitskova, Estonia, Netherlands, 2026): A dataset of deep-sea images comes alive at machine speed.
Pattern of Activation (Gardens of the Galaxy) (Katja Novitskova, Estonia, Netherlands, 2024): A hypnotic view of where life and technology meet.
Fantasy Sentences (Dane Komljen, Germany, Denmark, 2017): Family home movies give way to a landscape without people: a city where humans are present only through what they left behind, and the trees are left to do the remembering.
The screening will be followed by Q&A with directors Dane Komljen and Katja Novitskova.
Between Film and Art #2 bestaat uit de volgende films:
The More I Zoom in on the Image of These Dogs, the Clearer it Becomes That They Are Related to the Stars (Alexandre Koberidze, Georgië, Duitsland, 2023): een beeld van honden wordt meer dan duizend keer verder ingezoomd, totdat er niets anders overblijft dan zacht, glanzend materiaal – en de titel waar blijkt te zijn.
