Aloners - Korean Retrospective

A quietly powerful portrait of isolation, grief, and the slow, tender path toward human connection.

Jina is a high-performing call center employee who keeps to herself and avoids emotional connection, leading a quiet, isolated life. When an unexpected event involving a neighbor shakes her routine, she’s forced to confront the emptiness beneath her well-managed exterior. At work, she reluctantly begins training a new, inexperienced colleague, which further tests her patience and self-control. Meanwhile, distant family tensions and haunting glimpses into others’ lives stir something unresolved in her. Through subtle shifts and quiet encounters, Jina gradually begins to reckon with her loneliness and consider the possibility of change.
