Maar als Johnny naar Sicilië afreist om zijn zieke moeder te bezoeken valt Loretta als een blok voor zijn broer Ronny (Cage). Haar moeder (Dukakis) tobt met een overspelige echtgenoot maar heeft zelf ook sjans. Het komt allemaal door de maan, in deze zéér romantische komedie van Norman Jewison, die Cher, Dukakis en scenarist John Patrick Shanley een Oscar bezorgde.

Her mother (Dukakis) is struggling with an adulterous husband but is having a fling herself. It all comes through the moon, in this very romantic comedy from Norman Jewison, which earned Cher, Dukakis and screenwriter John Patrick Shanley an Oscar.
