The Cat Returns - The Wondrous World of Studio Ghibli
A seventeen-year-old girl becomes unexpectedly engaged to a cat prince in a magical realm, with her only chance at freedom resting in the paws of a charming cat statue come to life.
Haru Yoshioka, a shy high school girl who can talk to cats, rescues a cat from a collision one day. To her surprise, the cat turns out to be the prince of the Cat Kingdom. In gratitude, Haru is showered with strange gifts and a marriage proposal from the prince, which she does not want. Seeking help, Haru finds the Cat Bureau and meets the charming cat character Baron and his friends.
When Haru is taken to the Cat Kingdom against her will, she slowly begins to turn into a cat. With the help of her new friends, Haru tries to escape and save herself before she turns into a cat forever. Through her adventures, she learns to trust her own strength and returns to the human world with more confidence and a renewed sense of self.
Haru Yoshioka, een verlegen middelbare scholiere die met katten kan praten, redt op een dag een kat van een aanrijding. Tot haar verbazing blijkt de kat de prins van het Kattenrijk te zijn. Uit dankbaarheid wordt Haru overspoeld met vreemde cadeaus en een huwelijksaanzoek van de prins, wat ze niet wil. Op zoek naar hulp, vindt Haru de Cat Bureau en ontmoet ze de charmante katfiguur Baron en zijn vrienden.
Wanneer Haru tegen haar wil wordt meegenomen naar het Kattenrijk, begint ze langzaam in een kat te veranderen. Met de hulp van haar nieuwe vrienden probeert Haru te ontsnappen en zichzelf te redden voordat ze voor altijd in een kat verandert. Door haar avonturen leert ze vertrouwen op haar eigen kracht en keert ze terug naar de mensenwereld met meer zelfvertrouwen en een vernieuwd gevoel van eigenwaarde.
