The story follows Henry Spencer, a quiet and awkward man living in a nightmarish industrial landscape. When his estranged girlfriend, Mary, gives birth to a grotesque, inhuman baby, Henry is thrust into a surreal world of anxiety, isolation, and disturbing hallucinations. As he struggles to care for the crying mutant child, he is haunted by eerie visions, including a mysterious woman who sings in a radiator. The film delves into themes of fear, fatherhood, and existential dread, creating an unsettling and dreamlike experience through its striking black-and-white cinematography and haunting sound design.
Het verhaal volgt Henry Spencer, een stille en onhandige man die leeft in een nachtmerrieachtig industrieel landschap. The Last Take: David Lynch
The Last Take is a special Filmhuis Den Haag series celebrating the legacy of recently departed film legends through their most iconic works. This January, we honor the incomparable David Lynch with screenings of five of his greatest films: Eraserhead, The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, and Inland Empire. Additionally, we are also screening a selection of his short films.
